15. Angel Moms - Living with Unattainable Expectations

In books, television, and movies, we are often shown an image of motherhood as superheroic or even saintly.  In a world where both stay at home moms and working moms are judged by what they do or don’t do, moms everywhere live in a constant state of having to justify every decision they make. In pop culture,  stay at home moms are held up to a angelic homemaker perfection standard, and the working mother is constantly struggling to maintain a work and home balance that tips more towards work - often having to make sacrifices to get what they want. Why is this still the primary narrative in 2019, and what are the ways we can shift it?
